Vaccination Requirements for Colleyville, TX Dogs & Puppies

Canine vaccinations are either modified live or killed. Modified live vaccines are stronger and longer lasting, and they more rapidly provide protection against the offending illness or disease. Killed vaccines, produce a lower immune response from the animal and require more booster shots to continue providing protection for your pet.

Before vaccinating your dog, it should be free of internal and external parasites (worms, ticks, fleas, etc), have a normal, healthy temperature (no fever), which is between 101.5 and 102 degrees Fahrenheit. Females who are pregnant should avoid vaccination procedures until late term. The recommended ages for early vaccinations vary depending on the vaccine. Ages 6-8  Weeks: 7-Way Dog Vaccine*, Bordetella                                                                                       

Age 11 Weeks: 7-Way Dog Vaccine, Influenza

Age 14 Weeks: 7-Way Dog Vaccine, Influenza, Rabies

Adult Annual Booster: 7-Way Dog Vaccine, rabies, Bordetella, Influenza

In addition, all vaccinations should include Coronavirus if prevalent in your area, as well as Lyme, if a concern, starting at 12-15 weeks.

*7-Way Dog Vaccinations include all of the above, plus two strains of Lepto.
