About Southlake

Southlake was settled by pioneers in the 1840s but wasn’t incorporated as a city until four years after Lake Grapevine was completed, in 1956. The area was rural until the completion of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, when it boomed into what Forbes.com named the most affluent neighborhood in the United States in 2008. Town Square Shopping Center draws a number of visitors to Southlake as well, and families covet the area because every school that serves the community has been rated as ‘exemplary’.
